Intimidation of deer hunter one mile from "Arkansas Sphinx" rock formation
The witness arrived before daylight to deer hunt from a ground blind near a road above a steep slope. From inside the blind he heard coyotes, then hollering, rock-banging or wood-knock sounds, and whoops as something ran up the slope, crossed the road, and stopped in thick brush behind him. He then heard loud raspy breathing and growling and smelled a strong obnoxious odor for about five minutes before the animal ran away along the treeline and the woods went quiet.
Group of friends hear possible howls near the Ozark National Forest
The witness and three companions were house-sitting north of Russellville. While going outside for breaks between midnight and about 3 a.m., they repeatedly heard a distant moaning-howl in groups that agitated local dogs and horses. Unable to identify the sound at the time, they later compared it to an Ohio moaning-howl recording and judged it to match.
Cougar research interrupted by wood knocks at Bell Smith Springs
The witness was camped alone and cutting firewood at night while researching cougars. On two consecutive nights the witness heard loud, aggressive wood knocks coming from a nearby canyon, believed to be responses to the wood chopping. The knocks stopped after other campers filled the site, and the witness reported no visual sighting of the source.

The witness and a relative were on the porch at night when cattle became disturbed and ran to a fence. They drove the perimeter with night vision and a high beam and saw eyeshine high in trees near a pond. Scanning down, the witness saw a tall hair-covered figure leaning against a tree, which turned and walked away when the witness turned to alert the companion.
Man finds 3-toed prints & wife has sighting
During modern-gun deer season the witness was walking on a road between two fields when he noticed footprint-like impressions in the road and at the field edge. He returned the next morning to photograph one impression with a shotgun and boot for scale. He described it as about boot-length, wider than a bare foot, with three toes, and interpreted several impressions as a running stride toward a nearby thicket.
