The witness was driving west before dawn when a dark, hairy biped crossed the road in front of the vehicle. The figure crossed from left to right in a few strides and disappeared over the roadside bank. After stopping and backing up to the spot, the witness reported a musty smell, faint brush movement, and a feeling of being watched before driving away.
Family members encounter footprint
While hiking with two relatives in the Siuslaw National Forest, the witness was shown a single large footprint in dried mud beside the trail. The print was measured, photographed, and cast, and the surrounding area was searched for additional sign without success. The witness states the origin of the print is undetermined.

The witness was bow-hunting in coastal second-growth forest on the morning of 9/1/01. He heard whooping and scream-like vocalizations followed by a large tree falling, plus heavy footsteps, and later found large ground impressions, broken limbs and tops, and animal hair high on a tree. An investigator later reviewed photos of broken and twisted trees and received frozen scat and hair samples for examination.

The witness reports hearing strange laughter-like sounds from woods near a companion's house over several months, later followed by almost nightly yard disturbances. Other household members and a neighbor also heard the sounds, and trash was disturbed, items knocked over, and apples went missing while dogs barked. The witness never saw the source and states no physical evidence was recovered, with activity stopping when weather turned cold.

The witness was scouting deer locations by vehicle with two relatives when he found a large human-like footprint at a logging-road turnaround overlooking a ravine. The relatives joined him to examine it closely and they found a coarse hair inside the print. They photographed and videotaped the print and kept the hair in a film container, but the hair was later lost while showing it to someone.

The witness was sitting at a mountain camp near water around midday when they noticed a bear-like odor and spotted movement on a nearby ridge. A dark, almost black figure initially mistaken for a man stood up from the ground and walked calmly across the ridgetop, close enough for footstep sounds to be heard, before descending out of sight. The witness emphasized the figure was much larger than a bear.

The witness was driving home from work in the early morning when a large creature crossed the highway in front of the car. The creature was walking upright and covered the road in three large steps. As the witness drove past the location, a musty odor like wet canvas was noticed.

The witness was walking down a trail in daylight with snow on the ground when a nearby deer appeared to be looking at something behind it. The witness then saw a tall, slim black figure with a human-like torso about 300 feet away. The witness was driving at night on a forested highway near the Oklahoma-Arkansas border when a tall, slender, hair-covered figure sprinted across the road in front of the vehicle. The figure was seen clearly in bright headlights at close range and crossed from south to north with very long strides. The witness was certain it was neither a bear nor a human.

The witness was pheasant hunting with a dog on elevated ground beside tall grass. The dog became agitated and barked toward a distant tree line. The witness then saw a large dark figure moving through the tall grass toward the trees and disappearing into timber, after which the witness left the area.

Two companions bowhunted for elk and hiked out after dark toward their truck parked behind a locked gate. Along the ridge and back to the road they repeatedly noticed a moldy, musky odor and felt as if they were being watched. Near the truck they found very large human-like footprints, about 16 inches long, overlying their own earlier tire tracks. They saw no live animal and left quickly.

The witness was alone on a logging road stopping to eat huckleberries when loud noises were heard from upslope behind. Multiple large rocks were thrown toward the witness, with some hitting a tent set up near the road while the witness was inside. The witness left the area without ever seeing the source of the noises or rocks.

The witness stopped for a break by a creek in the Cherokee National Forest in the afternoon, smelled a strong musty urine odor and heard a close low grunt. A large black-and-gray upright figure with humanlike facial features watched the witness from underbrush for 1-2 minutes before turning and leaving through thick brush. The witness retreated to a vehicle and later estimated the figure was at least seven feet tall from measuring the standing spot.

Two companions were deer hunting in forest land in the fall and regrouped at their vehicle after one found a freshly torn-apart deer carcass. While examining the carcass they reported a feeling of being watched and a strong odor described as wet dog mixed with rotting garbage. As they walked back to the vehicle near dark they heard something moving parallel in the undergrowth, then heard a loud scream from very close range, prompting them to fumble with their unloaded guns and leave quickly.

The witness was elk hunting alone and stopped by a creek to eat while watching a power-line clearcut. He saw a large dark upright figure cross the clearing, then watched it again through a rifle scope and described a tall hairy human-like animal. It crossed a third time with a smaller half-size companion, and both disappeared into the forest. The witness returned to camp and left the area with his companion the next morning, cutting the trip short.
Possible approach to homes at night near the Des Moines River outside Saylorville
The witness was awakened at night by distressed dogs and heard a heavy, bipedal-sounding walker moving in dry reeds behind the house. Two large neighbor dogs repeatedly charged into the dark toward the sound and yelped as if struck, retreating to the porch light. The disturbance lasted about an hour and was also watched by family and neighbors. Days later the witness found reeds smashed flat along the fenceline and a large mashed area, but no identifiable footprints.

On New Year's morning in 1978 the witness was riding as a passenger south on Highway 37 over the Alafia River when she saw a large hairy figure squatting at the water's edge splashing water. Her sister, the driver, saw it as it entered the woods, after which they left in the car.

After placing flowers, the group heard a crash at the woods edge and saw a large dark hairy creature standing behind the back fence about 50 yards away. The creature grunted and shuffled back into the woods, and the group quickly got in the car and left.
