Nighttime sighting by motorists north of Canton
The witness and a relative were driving home at night when a large hair-covered biped crossed the road in front of their vehicle. It was fully lit by the headlights, its eyes reflecting brightly, and it grasped the top of a road sign as it stepped off the road. The witness described it as nearly eight feet tall with dark red hair.
Possible early morning sighting along country road near Pickens
Around mid-summer 1981, the witness was riding a bicycle home in the early morning hours ahead of a companion. Near an intersection he looked back and saw a whitish object moving quickly from one side of a barbed-wire fence to the other into woods, knocking branches aside. He did not get a clear view and first thought of a horse, but on revisiting the site the next day concluded a horse could not have moved that way through the dense cover.

The witness and a companion drove into the driveway of an unoccupied family farm in the evening. The headlights revealed a figure standing at a five-strand barbed-wire fence, holding the top wire while swinging a leg over. Its eyes glowed in the light. The pair left quickly.
Daylight sighting at eastern dike of East Lagoon in Aliceville
A teenager walking back from a pond across a field saw a very dark tall figure walking along a path about 50 yards away. The figure was visible from the torso up above tall sagebrush, estimated at about 8 feet tall, and walked with its head slightly bent forward before going into the woods. The witness ran home to tell relatives.
