Soldier on leave has a daylight sighting while fishing near Bennington
The witness was fishing near a lake dam in the afternoon and noticed a large upright creature standing next to a tree in tall grass, with its head just below branches about 10 feet up. The sighting lasted about a minute; when the witness looked down while walking toward it and then back up, the creature was gone.

Possible night time sighting by hunters in a marsh near Port Clinton
In 1974 the witness and a companion camped on a small island in a marsh after setting turtle lines. Around 10:30 p.m. on a moonlit, still night they heard splashing and saw ripples, then observed a tall figure standing waist-deep about 75 yards away for about 45 seconds. The figure turned its head and walked easily through deep water and muck until out of sight, after which both left the area.
