The witness was riding with companions on dirt roads near recently burned woods when she and the driver saw a white upright figure cross the road ahead. They first assumed it was a person, but saw no car and found no footprints when they returned to the spot. After driving around the area, the witness felt she had seen something different.

Around a curve she briefly saw a large black hair-covered man-shaped figure take a final step into dense roadside trees. Her companion, who was talking, did not see it. The witness slowed and both looked into the woods but saw nothing further.
