US Marine has a possible encounter with his deer kill outside Jacksonville
The witness shot a deer at dusk and dragged it toward his truck after dark. On the trail he saw a widely spaced pair of large eyes at about his own height that stayed after he fired a handgun into the ground, then left to the side through dense brush with loud crashing. He smelled a foul musky odor and found pushed-over vegetation where it left, felt watched while field-dressing the deer, and later found part of the carcass dragged about 300 yards.

Several service members were occupying fighting holes on a hill ridge at night during a mock combat exercise when they noticed movement behind them. A large hair-covered biped that had been kneeling stood up, walked between their positions while watching them, paused to look back, and then left the clearing. The group also reported a strong unusual odor at the time.

While commuting to work in the morning, the witness pulled over to watch what they first thought was a bear sitting under a large pecan tree. After noticing a strong foul odor, they watched the animal stand, walk to the tree on two feet, and shake pecans from it. After the witness honked, the animal froze, turned to look, made a loud screeching noise, and ran quickly into the woods.

The witness was driving toward the beach at dusk when a large hairy creature stood in the road. The car glanced the creature, then the witness stopped and the creature got up, approached, and chased the car, striking the rear. The witness drove away and later found a dented quarter panel with hair, a shattered spoiler, and a lingering foul smell on the car.
