Possible encounters by soldiers training at Fort Pickett

A military controller and about 20 soldiers conducting multi-day field training heard unexplained footsteps around their concealed position on several occasions and later heard several loud wood-on-wood knocks from a direction where no troops were located. The unit checked team positions verbally and visually and investigated but found no source. That evening they heard a radio report of a separate sighting elsewhere on the installation.
