In July 2006 around 9:30 p.m., the witness was walking from the garage to the house when a loud unfamiliar screaming was heard from the hollow at the back of the property. The scream was heard again about 30 seconds later. The witness said it was unlike coyotes previously heard and that it sent chills down the spine.

Bowhunters get unexpected response near Boston
Three bowhunting companions were camped overnight in an abandoned barn. After the witness made rabbit-distress calls with cellophane, a distant low moan grew into a loud mournful roar twice, followed by total silence from dogs and insects. The men remained silent in their sleeping bags until morning and then packed up and left without hunting.
