Campers are disturbed by strange vocalizations in Piney Woods of East Texas

A couple camping overnight on family land heard a loud human-like howl from a creek bottom that quickly closed to within a few yards and repeated several times. The wife fled to a storage shed and sprained her ankle while the husband retrieved a pistol and searched with a flashlight but saw nothing. They abandoned the camp the same evening and drove home.
