Man has night encounter at home just outside Sam Houston National Forest
After a storm knocked out power, the witness walked a powerline to check for damage and then headed back toward the house. They noticed blinking eye-like lights high off the ground, smelled a musky odor, and made out a large bulky dark shape in weak flashlight light before running to the house. A short time later the witness returned with a brighter light and companions, saw the blinking eyes again in woods beside the house, then heard movement and a throaty howl as it left.
A set of red eyes were seen by witness.
Two people were fishing at a river at night when wildlife sounds suddenly stopped. One of them went to the top of the bank with a rifle and spotlight and observed red eyes estimated to be 7 to 8 feet high near the fence. Shots were fired toward the eyes, impacts were heard, and the eyes closed with nothing further seen. The pair left quickly, had to move crowded livestock to exit, and never returned.

Over three years after the main walk, the witness reports recurring being-watched feelings, crashing sounds, silence, dog reactions, chattering and screams, odors, thrown sticks and debris, and one eyeshine about 8 ft high.
