Large biped sighted running in the woods behind a home near Chippewa Lake
The witness was driving on a trail behind her home in the early evening when she noticed movement in the woods to her left. She reported a brief side view of a tall, dark, hairy bipedal animal running awkwardly into the woods and disappearing. She also heard cracking of dead trees and later found a human-like but boxier footprint in sand that was gone when she returned with a relative.
Family reports possible vocalizations and unexplained activity near Mecosta
On Monday evening 5/14 around 9pm at a relative's riverbank house, the relative noticed a roughly 9- to 10-foot limb protruding from the ground that had not appeared in panoramic photos taken earlier that day. The husband arrived shortly after, felt uneasy and heard rustling in the woods across the river before turning back, and the witness later joined him to inspect the stick and search for footprints without success. The relative suggested the limb may have fallen from a tree, while the witness doubted a natural placement.
Teen hears extremely loud vocalization along path near home
As an eighth-grader, the witness walked alone late at night along a familiar wooded shortcut toward home. In pitch darkness he heard an extremely loud, high-pitched scream from about 20 to 30 feet directly ahead, followed by loud crashing as the unseen source moved rapidly downhill toward a lake. He fled home at full speed and never saw what made the sounds.
