The witness, then a child swimming with siblings, walked back alone to a swimming hole to retrieve a watch. He saw a tall dark upright figure cross his path near a fenceline and take several steps. Startled, he ran home, where family members suggested it was a deer, which he rejects.

A dairy farmer preparing to milk cows in late afternoon saw seven [name withheld] upright figures moving single file across a distant ridgeline. The lead figure paused and faced the witness while the others continued down toward a wooded creek area. When the witness started toward the area, nearby heifers stampeded past him, and he decided not to follow and returned to the house.
