Lifelong hunter and fisherman has possible vocalization experiences near Packwood
In November 1998 the witness and a companion were truck camping on a gravel overlook between two lakes to hunt elk. In the evening while sitting by a fire they heard a loud screaming howl from the treeline about 100 yards away that seemed to move closer. They also heard what sounded like logs or limbs being thrown toward them and spent the night in the truck cab.

A few minutes later they heard a much louder similar scream that sounded immediately behind the tree. They did not see anything, heard something move away through brush, then left for the logging road where other hunters had heard nothing.

The witness was driving with family members when they stopped to watch a large hairy biped near a cornfield. The creature took a few steps in different directions before walking into trees by a creek and disappearing. The group drove to a relative's house nearby and reported what they had seen.

In spring 1981 the witness was camping with family and hiking off-trail when the group found a large footprint on the edge of a creek. Water was running over the print, suggesting it was fresh. The find was kept private for years until reported, and an investigator later documented its size.

In 1980 a teenage witness walking up a long driveway by dense brush heard something bipedal pacing her from cover, seeing only treetops move. As an 11-year-old the witness was playing piano alone in the living room at night when she felt watched and turned to see a hairy biped looking in through a large picture window. She froze and then screamed, and the creature reacted with surprise and fled on two legs. The witness was driving west over the pass late at night when headlights revealed a tall hair-covered biped coming up a roadside bank on the right. The animal stepped over a guardrail without reacting to the car and walked up the hill as the witness slowed and passed in the left lane. The brief sighting lasted seconds, and the witness concluded it was not a bear or known ape.

The witness was driving west down White Pass late at night when headlights revealed a tall hair-covered biped climbing the roadside bank. The creature stepped over the guardrail and continued walking uphill without reacting to the car. The witness slowed, moved to the left lane, and watched for about 15 seconds before passing. The witness could not identify it as a bear or ape.
"Brinson Monster"
In 1966 or 1967, several high school students parked at an abandoned farm in the evening reported seeing a tall light-colored upright animal with red eyes watching them. The story spread through the high school where it became known as the Brinson Monster. The narrator notes people at the time did not connect it to Bigfoot or Sasquatch.

The reporter states that in the late 1970s her father was driving a school bus early in the morning when a large hair-covered man- and ape-like creature came down a deer path. He braked and watched it run across the road and continue down the path on the other side for about a minute. An investigator later spoke with the father by phone and recorded additional descriptive details.
