The witness and his wife were outside watching their dogs late at night when they heard an unfamiliar sound from the north toward a creek. The wife said she had never heard such a sound before. After going inside, she compared it to animal and Bigfoot audio clips and said it sounded identical to the Bigfoot clips.

The witness was driving west on Highway 6 at night in rain when his high beams revealed a hair-covered, ape-like figure lying face-down in his lane. He braked and swerved into the oncoming lane to avoid hitting it as it pushed up with its arms and turned to look toward him. He described jet-black wet hair hanging over its face, a chimp-like nose and mouth, and large limbs, estimating it was the size of a large man.

A large black figure stood up about 15 feet away on a steep downhill slope, showed agitated movements and cheek puffing, muttered and then screamed before leaving over a stump downhill. About an hour later the witness returned with two companions and all three heard pounding on trees and mumbled vocalizations before leaving.

While elk hunting, the witness and two companions found a single well-defined human-like footprint near a creek. The print was described as very wide with large distinct toes, no claws, and measuring about 11 inches long. The witness, experienced with bear tracks, judged it was not a bear.

A group was camping near a river and three men took a late-night hike down the river to throw rocks into the water. On the return they heard sounds suggesting something was following them, and the women in camp reported rocks being thrown near camp and brush moving. After going to bed the group heard a loud screech/scream twice, and before sunrise one woman was awakened by a close growl near the tent. No creature was seen.

Late in the evening the witness was in a vehicle on a dead-end road watching for animals with headlights on. A tall hair-covered bipedal figure emerged from the right side and crossed the road in two strides into dense timber. The witness went outside and imitated the calls, and the source answered several times while apparently approaching to the edge of the yard. About eight years before the phone interview, the witness was riding horses with his wife on a logging road in wooded country when he saw a dark animal cross the road a couple hundred yards ahead. The occupants described it as bear-like at first but then gorilla-like, muscular, and walking on two legs.

In November 1998 the witness and a companion were truck camping on a gravel overlook between two lakes to hunt elk. In the evening while sitting by a fire they heard a loud screaming howl from the treeline about 100 yards away that seemed to move closer. They also heard what sounded like logs or limbs being thrown toward them and spent the night in the truck cab.
