Deer in the area fled as the sounds got closer, and the witness left quickly. Cattle in a nearby pasture were later seen huddled far from the sounds.

A few minutes later they heard a much louder similar scream that sounded immediately behind the tree. They did not see anything, heard something move away through brush, then left for the logging road where other hunters had heard nothing.
