In November 1998 the witness and a companion were truck camping on a gravel overlook between two lakes to hunt elk. In the evening while sitting by a fire they heard a loud screaming howl from the treeline about 100 yards away that seemed to move closer. They also heard what sounded like logs or limbs being thrown toward them and spent the night in the truck cab.

The reporter states that in the late 1970s her father was driving a school bus early in the morning when a large hair-covered man- and ape-like creature came down a deer path. He braked and watched it run across the road and continue down the path on the other side for about a minute.
