Possible daylight sighting while driving on a rural road between Helena and Great Falls
The witness was driving on a private dirt road in the morning when he noticed a black two-legged figure about a quarter-mile away walking across a side road with an unusual sauntering, swinging gait. He stopped and backed up for a better view, but the figure was gone. Investigators later visited, measured the crossing, and recreated the figure from memory as much larger than a human, about 8'7" tall with very long arms and no visible clothing lines.

Early one fall morning the witness opened a door to let dogs out and saw a large hairy biped near the well head a short distance away. The creature turned to face the witness and emitted a loud scream that caused intense fear and crying. After standing face-to-face for a couple of minutes, it turned and walked away downhill on two legs. A partner inside heard the vocalization from bed.

In the afternoon the companion was down by the creek while the witness was on a gravel road and saw a tall dark upright figure cross the road toward the creek and disappear into forest. The witness and a companion were driving on the interstate at night when headlights lit up a white erect figure over six feet tall on a nearby mountainside. The figure appeared to be watching highway traffic and was visible for only a few seconds in the dark. Both occupants noticed it and verbally confirmed to each other that they had seen it.

As a child attending a Scout Jamboree, the witness says a friend led him to a river where they watched a roughly 6-foot-tall gorilla-like animal across the water. The animal stood upright with its back to them, plucking leaves with its hands and eating for a couple minutes before walking into brush. They stayed in the area for several days afterward but never saw it again.

The witness was fly-fishing at night along the river below Hauser Dam and walked back to his lamp on a boulder to retie a fly. He shone the lamp on movement about 10 feet away and watched a large hairy biped move rapidly up the steep rocky bank and disappear within seconds. Afterward he noticed two of his four pooled trout were missing and heard a boulder crash downstream, then left with the remaining fish.

Six hunters in pairs heard a distant high-pitched scream likened to a rusty gate while hunting elk south of Indian Meadows trailhead in the afternoon. Two hunters who were closer to the sound were badly disturbed and left the area on game trails. No one saw the source and no tracks were found.
