Duck Hunter Encounter with a Bigfoot near Black River 30 miles NW of Jonesboro
During a winter duck hunt the witness waded out to retrieve a downed bird and noticed feathers and rhythmic splashes in flooded timber. A very large bipedal creature approached through the trees to within about 30 yards, watched the witness for about 30 seconds, made a low huff, then turned and left quickly through the water. The witness returned to companions and left the area, avoiding hunting for about a week.

The witness was camping alone in a tent in Spearfish Canyon. Late at night he heard a whistle-like sound, a tree-knock sound, and slow heavy bipedal footsteps approaching and passing his tent, accompanied by a strong unpleasant smell. He shouted at the presence and later woke to tree knocks and varied whooping sounds from multiple directions lasting about 15 minutes, and found no sign in the morning.

The witness was sleeping alone in a tent at a secluded creek-side camp in June 2008. Around 3:11 a.m. the witness awoke to total silence, then heard splashing and movement in the stream to the north and west, followed by a patterned sequence of loud rock-on-rock smacks. The witness loaded a weapon and waited, heard nothing further, and left at sunrise without checking for tracks. Months later, after seeing a program about primates using rocks to communicate, the witness wondered if the visit had been by an unrecognized primate.

In August 2003 the witness left relatives fishing to hunt ginseng on a ridge near Yatesville Lake. He claimed hearing wood-like knocks and rocks moving through the trees, then seeing a large upright hair-covered figure watching him from across a hollow. He said he spoke to it, then hurried down the mountain hearing crunching steps and more thrown rocks behind him, and then packed his family out of the area.
