The witness and a companion had pulled off a gravel road east of Bedford in the afternoon when the companion said someone was watching. The witness then saw a tall hair-covered biped standing in the road about 50 to 60 yards ahead. After the witness stepped out with a rifle and started approaching, the creature turned and ran through briars into a cornfield, and the pair left.

The witness walked to help a relative who had run out of gas near a creek bed, where both noticed a foul smell and movement in the weeds. As they left on foot, the witness saw a tall, thick-haired biped approaching quickly and both ran toward home while it followed without catching them. When they reached their driveway they turned and saw it running into roadside weeds before going inside.

Her middle sister arrived and ran toward the figure, which then left and quickly disappeared. The sisters did not discuss the incident at the time and only recalled it decades later.
