Couple in car observe an upright animal crossing highway
The witness was driving westbound with a companion at about 1:30 a.m. when a very large dark figure ran across the highway from south to north. The crossing lasted about three seconds and the companion was certain it was on two legs. The companion became frightened and urged them to keep driving as fast as possible.
Hiker encounters large animal at close range in Mount Washington Wilderness
The witness was hiking down into high lake country when a strong bad odor caught attention. About 15 to 20 feet away at the tree line, an upright dark-haired creature stood looking at the witness. The creature turned and quickly left over a small hill into forest cover within seconds. The frightened witness left the area westward and has not returned.
Couple has daytime sighting in the Big Creek Wilderness Area
Two people coasting downhill on a motor scooter stopped at a clearcut to look at the view on a clear afternoon. They saw a large brown biped rise from the grass about 100 yards away and walk along the treeline, glancing at them before stepping up a bank into the forest. After waiting about 15 minutes they inspected the area and found a matted grass circle and large footprints leading away.
Late night sighting by family along Hwy 126, near McKenzie Bridge
The witness was driving home at night with family when a large standing figure was seen motionless beside the highway. The witness turned the car around for another look but nothing was there. Years later the witness and his wife realized they had seen figures on opposite sides of the road, indicating two creatures.
