The witness was walking through an overgrown clearcut when they heard a deep moaning and bugling sound and moved toward it. They then came to an area with a strong stench they could not describe. They found a track on a dirt and moss mound.
Witness tells of hearing and smelling a creature near Wildwood Falls
The witness and a relative were running at night along an old logging road toward the Falls when they noticed a strong musty odor. About 50 feet ahead, they perceived only a large, fast, dark movement that crashed through dense brush toward the Falls and then fell silent. The next day they found a wide smashed path with broken small trees and grooves in the ground. The witness stated the odor was unlike bear and distinct from other animals encountered before.

The witness was walking up a forest trail and noticed a smell, then saw a creature standing behind a bush next to a tree about 20 feet away. The witness avoided looking directly at it while passing within about 10-12 feet as it stood watching and swaying slightly. After passing, the witness heard rustling and turned to see it cross the trail upright on two legs and disappear into the woods.
Panicked deer, large droppings
Two witnesses watched a terrified deer go over a 12-foot waterfall while looking backward, apparently fleeing something unseen. No pursuer appeared and the deer swam away unharmed. Later the witnesses found widespread thin foul-smelling droppings and drag marks along a trail suggesting something had dragged a deer.
