Three occupants were driving toward cabins when one companion claimed to see a small monkey-like figure standing beside the road. The companion estimated its height at about two and a half to three feet. The other occupants did not report seeing it and did not believe the claim.
Screams heard by hunters
Two companions were on an overnight fishing trip and stood by a campfire around 10 p.m. They heard a very loud scream, then about 30 seconds later a quieter shorter scream. Frightened, they got into their pickup, locked the doors, and heard nothing further.

Two companions were fishing along a river below rimrock caves and overhangs. They heard grunting sounds from a cave directly above them and later heard a high-pitched whistle-scream as they walked away. Looking back, they saw the rear of a creature described as a Bigfoot going over the top of the ravine.

A deer hunter followed a wounded deer into a dense thicket off the road and lost it. He instead found a large stomped oval clearing devoid of grass and trees. Piles of scat several feet high stood at one end and a pile of bones, both old and fresh, lay at the other. He nicknamed the site a Bigfoot house.

Six occupants were inside a trailer at night when it began rocking on its foundation amid loud footsteps and strange breathing and rumbling sounds. Two occupants looking out a window saw only a dense mass of long glossy hair filling the view about six to seven feet off the ground. The group screamed loudly until the rocking and noises stopped. In the morning they found large handprints with thumbs in dust on the trailer roof but no tracks on the hard needle-covered ground.

The witness's mother and her companion drove into thick woods to hunt deer and split up on foot near their truck. The companion returned shaken saying she had found huge tracks and asked the mother to come look because she had the larger gun. Both women viewed barefoot-like tracks described as huge and left the area quickly.

Around 1960 at Wright Meadows, several families were conducting a coordinated deer hunt in which men flushed deer from brush. While feeding children a snack, the witness saw a very hairy bear-like creature come up out of a gully carrying a dead mule deer with its arms extended forward. The witness viewed it through a rifle scope in early-morning daylight before it disappeared down a dip still carrying the deer.

The witness was driving home from a party in 1948 when he saw a small monkey-like figure squatting in the middle of the road about 50 feet ahead. He swerved to avoid hitting it and drove into the ditch. Occupants of a car behind him stopped but said they had seen nothing.
