The witness climbed into a deer blind before dawn to hunt. Shortly after sitting down, he heard a sustained higher-pitched howl from one side and a lower sustained response from the other side, neither matching animals he knew. Minutes later while getting binoculars from his truck, he heard a low gruff voice-like sound resembling "Hey You" from close range, then returned to the blind.

They listened for about ten minutes to loud, clear vocalizations coming from the woods behind the property. The witness and a relative were in a ravine and heard a loud growl and howl near a gate as they prepared to leave. They ran toward a nearby building. The witness looked back and saw a tall reddish figure by the gate watching for about 20 seconds before it turned and went back into the woods.
