While towing trailer to campsite, family has mid-morning road encounter near Butte Falls
The witness was driving while towing a trailer to a campsite with his wife and daughter when he and his wife saw a pitch-black hair-covered figure by the highway. The figure stepped from the road into the forest and was gone when they looked for a person or vehicle nearby. The witness returned about an hour later to search for tracks but found none because the ground was dry and hard.

Witness observed "thing" walk briskly away
While deer hunting on a steep timbered slope in the evening, the witness noticed movement about 70 yards away. The dark, tall figure was judged too tall to be a deer and moved briskly through the trees for about 40 yards without making sound despite dry, crunchy conditions, then turned downhill and disappeared from sight.
