The witness was driving home from work late at night when she briefly saw a tall, dark figure on the opposite side of the highway near a guardrail. She described it as facing away and moving toward the ditch and forest, seeing it only for a moment at close range. A coworker who drove the same stretch about 15 minutes earlier reported a deer sprinting across the road in the same area.

The witness was deer hunting alone from an elevated stand at dusk when deer behaved nervously. A large unseen animal approached behind the stand, breathing heavily, sniffing, producing knocks and screams, and pacing before moving west. The witness turned on a headlamp and saw a tall dark figure from behind that grunted and ran along a creek bank into the woods.

The witness was night fishing from a dock when an otter nearby suddenly fled. The witness then saw a large grey shape move quickly and silently between cover, followed by a large splash near the dock. Frightened, the witness left immediately and found large four-toed footprints on a return visit the next day.

On a night trip in early March 2013, the witness and three companions stopped in the woods around 2:30 a.m. after hearing a loud moaning sound. The witness shone a light downhill and saw a head with two closely spaced eyes about 40 feet away and 5 to 6 feet off the ground. The eyes stared for about 45 seconds before sidestepping behind a tree, and a quick search found nothing and no tracks.

The witness was driving while towing a trailer to a campsite with his wife and daughter when he and his wife saw a pitch-black hair-covered figure by the highway. The figure stepped from the road into the forest and was gone when they looked for a person or vehicle nearby. The witness returned about an hour later to search for tracks but found none because the ground was dry and hard.

The witness, a police officer on midnight patrol, was driving back toward town when he noticed movement in the roadside ditch. Moments later a hair-covered figure ran across the road in front of his vehicle from west to east, visible only from thigh to shoulder in the headlights. The witness and two companions were fishing in a swampy wooded area from a small paddle boat when they heard loud walking in the woods. They looked toward the sound and saw an upright gray-haired entity about 70 to 80 feet away, with its lower body hidden by bushes. They estimated it stood about 7 to 8 feet tall and noted it had very large eyes.

The witness, then about 12, woke in a guest bedroom at the grandparents' farm and saw a large hairy figure watching through the window for under a minute. After slipping on a rug while trying to get up, the witness ran to the back of the house. From the back door the witness saw the figure running across a field toward a barn and losing sight behind it, while relatives in the house did not arrive in time to see it.
