Daytime sighting on the Yadkin river

Around midday in summer 1992, the witness was skipping work and exploring an abandoned riverside site near the Yadkin River. While walking back toward the river, the witness saw a furry upright figure visible from the chest up on the riverbank and approached it to get proof. The figure vanished in a split second when the witness looked away, and a subsequent search found only sand slid into the river with no hair or distinct tracks.
