Two forestry technicians stopped for lunch at Onion Lake while closing seasonal gates. During a walk around the lake, the witness found tracks coming out of the shallow water and going into the forest. Both workers examined the prints, measured them with a tape, recorded details in notebooks, then left to finish work without telling supervisors.
While conducting sound survey project, two team members see Bigfoot
A team of four was conducting a nighttime sound survey from a clear-cut overlooking a river valley while one member did a live radio interview from a parked vehicle near the treeline. The interviewer heard repeated charging sounds, footfalls and a grunt-growl from dense brush a few feet away while two teammates uphill watched with a night-vision device. The uphill observers reported a huge 8-foot-plus figure about 25 feet away leaning side to side to look through the trees and moving its arms. The episode lasted about 30 minutes, followed later by a distant scream, and a next-day search found disturbed soil but no footprints.
Youths see unknown hairy primate staring at them from distance
Six companions walking in riverside woods around 12:30 a.m. saw a large furry creature crouched behind a bush between two trees, holding a tree and peering at them. When they turned on a camera light they saw red eyeshine and fled in fear. The video did not capture the creature, and later daytime return visits found bones, fur, and a dead deer nearby.
Possible vocalizations heard by backcountry hikers in Redwoods National Park
Two backpackers hiked off trail and camped in a small canyon in Redwood National Park. Around 7 p.m. they heard a short scream nearby, after which the forest became very quiet. Around 10:30-11 p.m. they heard prolonged rhythmic wailing or howling from a surrounding ridge for several minutes before going to sleep and leaving the next morning.
Road-crossing sighting by motorists on Hwy 101 while passing lagoon near Trinidad
The witness was driving on a four-lane highway with a companion and an infant when a tall hairy figure ran across the road about 50 yards ahead and entered the forest. The witness shouted that it was Bigfoot, but the companion was dismissive. They drove back to the crossing point, looked into the thick forest, then left because it felt too spooky.
Daylight sighting by motorist on Johnson's Creek Road (off Bald Hills Road) near Redwood National Park
The witness was driving on a narrow forested road in early evening daylight when movement was noticed ahead on the right. A large man-sized biped was seen moving away from the road with very fast long strides, then running and jumping off an embankment about twenty feet from the road. The witness reported a large amount of dust in the air at the spot where it left the embankment.

Two wildlife technicians were bushwhacking downhill at twilight while carrying caged mice when they heard a heavy animal moving around them on two legs, at times behind them and then ahead of them. One of them then watched a large dark animal dash across the trail on two legs with a quick agile motion. Both men heard the movement, but only one saw the animal.

Six people camping at a forested lake campground heard a repeating whistle-whoop followed by an intense screech three times overnight, first from across a meadow, then from behind camp, then from very close to the tents. Each time they searched with flashlights and a spotlight but saw no eyes or movement apart from a small fox on the road. The next morning they found no tracks or other sign around the site and lake shore, and later doubted the fox could have made such intense sounds.

The witness and son were on a trail about a quarter mile from the river and stopped so the son could tie his shoe. The witness then noticed movement 150-200 feet away by a large old redwood stump and discerned a mass with a human-like torso from the waist up, apparently scratching its back against the stump. After gaining a back and profile view, the witness became fearful and both fled down the trail for about thirty seconds to a minute.
High-pitched vocalization sounds heard by woman playing solitaire at her kitchen table
Late at night while awake alone at the kitchen table, the witness heard a loud vocalization that started as low resonant yelling and rose into high-pitched screams. She said she recognized the sound from family descriptions and was thrilled to finally hear it after visiting the region for many years.
Upright hair covered figure seen beside river
The witness parked by a river to fish for steelhead on a rainy winter afternoon and heard two loud whoop-like bellows. While wading downstream the witness saw two tall, hair-covered figures standing motionless across the river and noticed a cocoon-like bundle of grass on a root wad. After fishing back upstream the witness looked back to find the figures and object gone, and a return visit the next day was blocked by flooding.

The witness found two unusual footprints in the evening and made plaster casts and footage of them. Later, while sleeping alone in a tent, the witness was awakened by heavy footsteps, ground vibrations, and breaking branches very close by. Upon exiting the tent with a flashlight, the witness saw and smelled nothing, then packed up and left.

Two companions were camping in separate spots near a river. The companion walking back from a grove heard crashes, a scream, nearby rustling, and breathing but saw nothing moving. From about a half-mile away on a riverbed, the witness heard a very loud scream from the forest to the north believed to be in the same area.

The witness and a companion returned the day after target shooting in hills east of Arcata to find several trees broken across the road. The limbs were described as physically broken rather than cut. They also noticed a bad odor at the site.

In daylight the witness was walking back with his mother, two brothers, and three dogs after moving cows. The dogs yelped and ran off as something was heard running in the woods to the side. They saw a fast brown diagonal blur pass 30 to 50 feet away through redwoods without visible arm swing, and the witness judged its height by swaying branches.

The witness was horseback riding with friends and stopped for lunch when crashing was heard in the brush. The witness rode toward the noise to look for elk and watched a small hair-covered creature trying to drink from a pool about 30 feet away. The horse became agitated so the witness left to tell friends, who returned and heard movement and saw ferns moving as something left toward the larger creek. The witness believed the crashing was made by a larger animal accompanying the young creature.
Early morning sighting by motorist along the Eel River
While driving slowly southbound above the river in the early morning, the witness noticed a reddish-brown human-like figure walking away from the water across a rocky sandbar toward the forest. The figure was described as very husky, walking slowly with swinging arms and a human-type gait. After driving on, the witness's wife and daughter each said they had seen the same figure.
Vocalization near Humboldt County (1992)
Two 12-year-olds camped by the river on their family ranch and went to sleep around 10. In the middle of the night they heard splashing crossing the river approaching the tent, then close vocalizations like grunts and talking. The visitor moved downriver out of sight, then crashed up a steep bank breaking large branches before going silent, and the boys fled uphill to the house.
Sighting by two backpackers
Two companions camping overnight were awakened by movement on rocks above camp. They listened for about 15 minutes, then watched a bipedal form cross a stream and meadow into the treeline about 200 yards away. After daylight they found a large gouge in soft earth and flattened grass, then left the area.
Strange frightining noises in Redwood grove north of Philipsville
In April 1991 the witness and his ex-wife were hiking a day-use trail off Avenue of the Giants when they heard a loud yell or howl from the forest that rapidly closed distance to within about 75 to 100 yards. They saw nothing, felt unwelcome, and ran back to their car and left. The witness said the sound was unlike an elk, human, or bear, and later heard a published Bigfoot scream recording that matched it.
