Four women driving south on Patricks Point Road near Trinidad in the late afternoon watched a very tall, dark figure walk across the road in front of their car. The figure was described as solid black head to toe, trim with broad shoulders and arms reaching near the knees, moving with a purposeful stride from forested land on one side into thick brush with no visible trail on the other. The occupants were struck by its height, smoothness, and silhouette appearance without visible face or clothing lines, and afterward wondered if it had been a Bigfoot.

The figure was described as very husky, walking slowly with swinging arms and a human-type gait. After driving on, the witness's wife and daughter each said they had seen the same figure.

Two companions camping overnight were awakened by movement on rocks above camp. They listened for about 15 minutes, then watched a bipedal form cross a stream and meadow into the treeline about 200 yards away. After daylight they found a large gouge in soft earth and flattened grass, then left the area.

The witness backed uphill and left without approaching to look for traces and told no one at the time. The sighting is recalled as a warm Fall afternoon in the early 1960s.

While waiting, the witness smelled a strong odor and saw a large hairy biped stand up nearby and walk away through thick brush, hearing snapping and leaf crunch as it left. The witness ran to the friends and later returned with them to find a squatted feeding spot and small broken trees.
