Three people looking for Sasquatch sign, while camping in the Bluff Creek area of California

During a July 1996 daytime search near Bluff Creek, the witness crossed to a glade and found a small cedar with its top freshly twisted off several feet up. The break and stripped bark looked moist and recent, and the detached top lay at the base. The witness photographed the tree and carried the top back to camp.
