Hikers observe animal in early evening near Blanca Peak
Two companions lagging behind a larger hiking group returning from a mountain lake saw a tall light-grey figure leap between trees about 30-60 yards away. The figure showed clearly visible arms and legs, moved very quickly and made no sound. The witnesses first thought it was a relative playing a trick, but found that relative already back at camp, and they ruled out deer, sheep, elk or bear. Rain that night prevented any follow-up search for tracks.
