Three men in a truck had just passed through a ranch gate in daylight when a tall, dark-haired creature emerged from a pine thicket and ran across the road in front of them in about three strides. It continued over a fence into trees on the other side in a matter of seconds without making sound. All three occupants reportedly watched the crossing and later searched for footprints without success.

Two witnesses scouting for deer hunting spots heard a yelp ending in a descending howl twice from one direction. After one witness struck a tree with a limb, they heard a single moan-like vocalization from the opposite direction. They interpreted the sounds as coming from two different animals communicating. The woods were otherwise quiet and the event lasted about half a minute.

Late at night after returning from work, the witness let dogs outside and heard prolonged loud screams, deep throaty sounds, wood clacking and tree-breaking noises attributed to two unseen sources apparently fighting. A deer feed bucket was carried off and left a mess at the feeder area, and horses panicked and ran into fences. No creature was seen.

As children playing in a wooded area, the witness and a cousin were standing by a pond when the witness noticed a black hairy creature standing in the woods watching them. After showing it to the cousin, both children ran away. The witness told parents afterward and never saw the creature again.

On a moonlit night in late October 1975, the witness was coon hunting along a ridge when both dogs became frightened and stayed by him. He heard a low moaning sound, a rock-throw-like crash into a brush pile, two tree-strike-like impacts, and something moving through leaves down a steep wooded slope. He called out but saw nothing and ended the hunt.

While hunting deer from a stationary position on private land, the witness watched a doe jump a fence and then saw a tall hair-covered biped vault the same fence, land on two feet, and pause facing him before stepping off the trail into the woods. The sighting lasted about five seconds and was viewed through a rifle scope from about 75 to 80 yards away. The witness then checked the spot but found no footprints or odor.

The witness was night driving with his girlfriend through fog when he saw two jet-black figures standing in a marshy field off the road. The larger figure had very wide shoulders with its head set low, and it turned its upper body toward the smaller one as they passed. He said nothing at the time and later returned in daylight and found no stumps, signs, or poles that could explain them.
