Hikers hear possible vocalizations near Cascade Locks along the Columbia River
Two companions were packing up after a late cookout at a park community kitchen when they heard a loud 10-second shrieking yell from a ridge across the creek. A short time later they heard a second similar yell from close behind the kitchen. Unable to identify the sounds, they locked themselves in their truck and left leftover food behind.

Vocalizations heard; hairy bipedal creature observed
Four men hiked up a mountain at night intending to camp on the summit. While resting about two-thirds of the way up at about 2:20 a.m., they heard two long loud screams from the ridge above followed by a powerful growl. Terrified, they ran down the mountain to the highway and went home.
