Family views something standing in a field in the Chassahowitzka Wildlife Area
Three family members riding in a passenger van to watch the sunset saw a tall, very hairy, light-brown-to-tan figure standing motionless in an open field 50-75 yards from the road. They watched it through the vehicle windows for about 7-10 seconds as the van slowed to turn, noting a rounded head with no neck and broad shoulders but no clear limbs. When they returned about 45 minutes later, the figure was gone.
Possible early morning encounter by hunters in the Green Swamp
Two people were sitting around a campfire in early-morning darkness when they heard heavy footsteps approaching through the woods. A creature passed through the campsite toward the river, then ran back and into the woods behind the camp, seen only as a fire-lit silhouette. After hunting from stands, they returned and found large five-toed footprints in sand that they felt were too large to be human.

The witness was staying overnight at the family property and went outside about 2 a.m. to quiet barking kennel dogs. On the way out and again on the way back, the witness noticed a large silver-colored being sitting calmly on a woodpile and watching. The witness went inside, locked the door, awoke shaking three hours later, and later called a friend and drew what was seen.

The witness reported a dusk encounter at about 20+ yards with a dark, stocky creature that had a wide upper torso and no visible neck in a remote pine-oak area. Waning light limited observable detail, but a reddish reflection from the eyes was noted. The witness was alone at the time.
