The witness and several companions were sitting in parked cars at a state park fishing area late at night. They heard something crashing down a wooded slope and saw a tall dark human-like figure land on the road, pause to look back, then sprint away with loud slapping footsteps. The group briefly got out, then left without discussing it and did not speak of it among themselves for months.
