The guest and his wife walked to leave food near the woods while hearing whoops, whistles and knocking. The guest saw a creature peeking from behind a tree about 100 feet away, crouched and moving nervously before lowering to the ground. He heard additional sounds indicating more individuals nearby.

The witness and companions were camping overnight beside a river when whooping vocalizations began from across the river in the early morning hours. The witness described a nearer caller and a more distant caller answering each other for about an hour. The witness and two companions reported hearing the sounds, while no other animals or insects were heard.
