Observation by a hunter through his scope by the New River Gorge Bridge near Fayetteville
The witness was deer hunting in the New River Gorge when he noticed movement about 60 yards away. Looking through his rifle scope, he watched a large hand against a poplar tree and then a head with large eyes peering at him for about 20 seconds before it stepped back behind the tree. He did not shoot, heard no sounds of departure, and had to pass near the location to leave the woods.

Two companions were sitting at the edge of a harvested field at night making rabbit distress sounds to call coyotes. After hearing twigs snap, they saw a large dark man-like figure showing its upper torso and glowing eyes on a small hill at the treeline that did not move or speak. They returned to camp to confirm their companions were still there, retrieved a shotgun for safety, but the figure was gone when they went back.
Two boys encounter large creature in daylight
The witness and a companion were walking past dense briars when they looked back and saw a tall hairy figure standing in the vegetation looking at them. After a brief mutual stare, the figure took several long strides into the woods, and both witnesses ran home.
