The witness and companions heard repeated scream-like sounds near a creek, followed by loud running and crashing in the woods. After they yelled into the woods, large rocks and boulders fell around them. They packed their gear and left frightened while the screams continued.

The witness was an MP stationed at Davison Army Airfield from late 1977 to late 1979. While alone on night gate duty he noticed a deer acting alarmed, heard a noise in the dark woods beyond the street light, and saw two red eyes reflecting back at a height well above deer level. He connects the incident to repeated nighttime knocks, loud wood breaks and unfamiliar animal sounds heard around the airfield swamp and south perimeter woods.

In summer 1973 the witness was driving on Pohick Road with her children in the evening when a tall hair-covered bipedal creature stepped into the road in front of her car. It stopped two to three yards from the hood, turned toward the headlights and stared for a few moments. It then crossed to the shoulder in one stride with a smooth gait and went into the woods.
