Vocalizations Heard Near Sighting During Same Time Period
The witness and a family member were on their home porch in the early morning when a loud commotion broke out on the hill beside the house. They heard a series of loud screams unlike any known animal, followed by something large running through the woods and breaking branches. Both were shaken, and a next-day search of the hard, gravelly ground found no tracks.

The reporter and three companions spent about half an hour on an observation tower, where the reporter heard loud clicking and short high-pitched screams and noticed an absence of birds. While driving out of the refuge minutes later, the reporter and the front-seat companion watched a huge, very wide, all-black upright figure cross the wide road in about three steps and disappear into dense brush. The companions in the back seat did not see it, and a brief stop found only a disturbed path through the brush where it had entered.

Shortly after 1:30 a.m., the witness and two companions heard screaming and metal being torn near junked cars below an old railbed. A very large presence came up the steep bank and stood close enough for its breath to be felt, accompanied by a foul odor. When the group fled toward the road it chased them with audible footsteps before stopping at the brush, and a heavy station wagon nearby was later found overturned and torn apart.
