Vocalizations Heard Near Sighting During Same Time Period
The witness and a family member were on their home porch in the early morning when a loud commotion broke out on the hill beside the house. They heard a series of loud screams unlike any known animal, followed by something large running through the woods and breaking branches. Both were shaken, and a next-day search of the hard, gravelly ground found no tracks.
Unusual events at remote family cabin near Keene Valley, NY
Late at night in fall 2003 the witness walked about 25 feet from the remote cabin to the tree line to relieve himself. He heard very loud heavy stomping or bounding from about 25 yards away at the base of a hillside that shook the ground and stopped after a few seconds when he turned toward it. He saw nothing further, felt uneasy, and went back inside and locked the cabin.
Hiker finds footprints and hears communicating sounds
The witness traveled to woods near Eagle Lake to camp overnight and listen for unusual sounds. In the afternoon he found elongated foot-like impressions, including one 12-inch print with four toes. After dark from a tree stand he heard repeated wood-on-wood strikes, a tree falling without cracking, footsteps uphill out of sight, and prolonged human-like hooting from multiple directions, followed by hours of silence. He left on foot around 3 a.m. without further incident.
Two people in canoe see creature on shoreline
Two companions fishing from a canoe at dusk noticed a dark crouched shape on the shoreline about 50 yards away. As they rowed closer the shape stood upright to about seven feet, looked toward them, turned toward a twig-snapping sound behind it, then spun and ran into the forest with further movement sounds heard. After waiting in the canoe, they paddled ashore and found two obscured marks in the sand where it had turned.

Shortly after 1:30 a.m., the witness and two companions heard screaming and metal being torn near junked cars below an old railbed. A very large presence came up the steep bank and stood close enough for its breath to be felt, accompanied by a foul odor. When the group fled toward the road it chased them with audible footsteps before stopping at the brush, and a heavy station wagon nearby was later found overturned and torn apart.
