Possible track way found in Hosmer Lake near Bend
Three people paddleboarding in the shallow back end of a lake at sunset came across a long trackway of very large footprints in the mud under the water. The prints appeared to follow elk tracks and occasionally veered aside near underwater nest-like depressions with shells. No figure or animal was seen, and the witnesses estimated a foot far larger than a human foot with very long strides. The tracks had washed away by the next day.

A couple out fishing and scouting for elk followed animal tracks and noticed a strong bad odor, white coarse hair covering a stump, and very large deep footprints around a wallow leading toward a creek. They estimated the prints were about a day old and also noted scarred trees and broken branches in the area. Frightened by the size and strangeness of the signs, they left and reported the experience right away.
Witness noticed very strange prints on the ground
The witness and a relative were bow hunting in a burned area of national forest in the early afternoon. After parking, the witness walked a short distance into the woods and found 8 to 12 large human-like footprints. They examined the tracks for about 30 minutes without seeing a creature or hearing unusual sounds, then left the area.
Hiker encounters large footprints
In the early spring of 1976 the witness was hiking uphill from a cabin when they found very large flat-footed tracks in soft dirt in a Ponderosa Pine forest. The tracks were fairly deep and appeared to come up the hillside from the cabin area. The witness did not see the track-maker and later read library publications about prior regional sightings.
Family in small boat hears animal retreating and finds prints
In 1963 the witness hiked with family members to Teddy Lakes to fish. While rowing around an island they heard splashing and then found a line of very large, deep, human-like footprints in shallow mud where an animal had exited the water. Neither the witness, then a youth experienced with tracks, nor his expert-tracker grandfather could identify the maker, and the trail was lost in forest litter.

The next day the witness's friends walked around the lake and reported large five-toed tracks and broken treetops where the sounds had been heard.
