Husband and wife have a possible encounter in a KOA campground north of Crescent City
A couple camping on an isolated site finished dinner and sat by a campfire when the wife felt watched and fearful. The husband searched with lights and briefly saw movement in the trees about 30 feet away, including what looked like a large dark lower leg. While inside the trailer the wife heard two to three whooping sounds from that wooded area.
Man in a 4x4 has a late night road encounter
The witness was driving north on Highway 101 between Orick and Klamath at night and saw what looked like a bear squatting by the road. As the witness approached, the figure stood up as a tall, hairy human-like silhouette that appeared much taller than the Jeep roof and seemed to hold its hands over its face against the lights. Within about 20 yards it took one leap off the road into the darkness toward the valley, in an encounter estimated at about ten seconds total.
Fifty-four year old salesman has a very close highway encounter
The witness was driving north on Hwy. 101 to visit a friend and pulled onto a wide spot to let faster cars pass. While stopped with the passenger window open, the witness heard an extremely loud scream and then saw a tall, dark-haired, muscular creature a few feet from the car. The creature took a couple of large steps toward the redwoods, went around a tree, and disappeared into dense brush. The encounter lasted only a few seconds and left the witness badly shaken.

The son, riding as a passenger in a vehicle traveling alongside a river, reported seeing a large hairy animal squatting on a rock in the water appearing to drink with its hand. The father, who was driving, did not see the animal. The sighting was very brief, lasting only seconds, and was said to have occurred in the early afternoon.
Witness observed creature watching him
The witness was walking uphill near Hunter Creek and climbing over a large fallen tree when they saw an entity stooped behind another fallen trunk about 30 feet away watching them. After a few seconds of staring, the entity turned and disappeared behind the tree. The witness then found several prints in the forest debris and followed them uphill briefly before losing them.

The witness was traveling with family members when their vehicle pulled over and everyone got out. The group noticed many large footprints in sand along a small river leading uphill toward the forest. They then heard a noise from the ridge across the river and briefly saw a large creature moving bipedally over the ridge out of sight, after which they got back in the vehicle and left.
