Fifty-four year old salesman has a very close highway encounter
The witness was driving north on Hwy. 101 to visit a friend and pulled onto a wide spot to let faster cars pass. While stopped with the passenger window open, the witness heard an extremely loud scream and then saw a tall, dark-haired, muscular creature a few feet from the car. The creature took a couple of large steps toward the redwoods, went around a tree, and disappeared into dense brush. The encounter lasted only a few seconds and left the witness badly shaken.
Vocal communications heard between two separate animals.
Late at night while preparing for bed, the witness heard a very loud and frightening scream lasting about 22 minutes. The sound was compared to a published recording of alleged Bigfoot sounds and was described as seeming to come from two separate animals. No visual contact was reported.
Screams heard several times over a period of four days.
The witness reported hearing a loud, distant scream-like sound coming from a ridge near the residence. On the first night the sound started around 10 p.m. and continued until at least 2 a.m., with individual bursts lasting from seconds to minutes. The witness compared the sound to a scream example and said it seemed to come from a distance.
Campers hear late night scream near Gasquet
In 1985 the witness and a companion were remote camping near Patrick Creek when they heard loud primate-like screams and conversational voices from a nearby ridge around 11 p.m. During the night the witness heard heavy tramping and deep breathing just outside the tent while a normally bold dog hid trembling inside. At dawn the witness found the campsite duff heavily scuffed with signs of foot traffic that had not been there the previous evening.
