Former Deputy Sheriff describes morning sighting on Cornwall Mountain
The witness stopped while riding an ATV on a logging road in the early morning and heard two loud howls. Shortly after the second howl he saw a large dark shaggy human-like figure downslope with its hands around an aspen tree, leaning out and staring at him. After several minutes of remaining motionless the figure turned and walked away downhill, and the witness left the area.

The witness was camping alone with his dog in a tent in a remote mountain meadow area while on a fly-fishing trip. Late at night he woke and heard a single extremely loud, high-pitched scream-like howl lasting several seconds from a few hundred yards away across a canyon. Frightened by the sound, which he perceived as territorial, he abandoned his tent and gear and drove to a nearby town to sleep. He returned at daybreak, found no tracks, and later concluded the sound matched alleged sasquatch vocalizations after comparing it to known animal recordings.

In late September 2005 the witness was camped at Jacob's Hill and sitting by the fire when a loud throaty wailing roar lasting about 5-10 seconds came from timber between meadows. Coyotes in several nearby spots immediately began howling and yelping as if disturbed. The witness did not hear the sound again during that trip.

In November at the same camp, a relative got up early and heard the same prolonged throaty roar followed by disturbed coyote howls.
