Trailer shaken and objects thrown at campers on the north rim of the Grand Canyon
On a Friday night during an archery-hunt camping trip, the witness and a relative sat by the campfire while two unseen presences circled the camp, breaking branches, pacing, and making heavy footsteps. Small rocks and sticks were then thrown into camp, including a softball-sized rock that landed nearby, followed by impacts on a food box and the trailer. Others sheltering in the trailer also heard footsteps, breaking branches, impacts, and a heavy sigh, and later a branch-like object was dragged across the trailer roof.
Possible vocalizations heard by campers near Knoll Lake
Five people camping together turned off a loud car stereo after noticing a strange sound. They then heard a series of loud, deep, aggressive bellowing vocalizations that seemed to come from 50 to 200 yards away in nearby canyons, each lasting several seconds. About 15 minutes after the last call, coyotes were heard from several directions and no further similar sounds occurred.
Twilight vocalizations heard near Lake Mary
The witness was camped with his wife along FR 124 east of Flagstaff. While on an evening walk he heard a brief coyote chorus followed by two mid-pitch "AH,OO" calls from farther in the same direction. After returning to camp he heard additional "AH,OO" and high-pitched "WOW" calls from the same direction, totaling six odd calls, then heard nothing more by 9 PM.
Father and son hear unidentifiable sounds
The witness stopped with a child by Sunset Crater to look at lava formations while driving from Phoenix to Utah. From the pine-covered slope above them they repeatedly heard loud, breathy huffing. They saw nothing because trees blocked the view, and video recorded at the time did not capture the sound. They left uneasy without identifying the source.
