Family finds tracks and has close visual encounter

In January 2003 a relative was chopping wood near the woods edge in the early evening when he noticed a large hairy figure a short distance away, visible from the waist up through a clearing. He froze, dropped the wood, and fled into the house, arriving badly shaken and initially unable to speak before stating he had seen Bigfoot. The figure was reported to have turned and left into denser woods without aggression or sound.
