Late at night the witness was inside the home when excitably barking dogs prompted a look out the window. A large, very hairy human-like figure was seen running upright across the road, backlit by an approaching car's headlights, and the car slowed near the crossing point. The witness then went outside to retrieve the dog, noticed a bad smell, and a later flashlight search found no footprints.

The witness was tent camping and went to a shallow creek pool to bathe after sunset. In the fading twilight she noticed a dark crouched silhouette nearby with its hands in the water as if washing. She perceived a mental reassurance that neither would harm the other. When she reached for her glasses for a clearer look, the figure ran off into the bushes.
