The figure was described as 7 to 8 feet tall with long arms, a large waist, a hairless light-colored face, and dark reddish hair elsewhere.

Four early-teen companions were spending the night at a house backing onto woods and took drinks onto the rear deck around dusk to shout into the trees as a joke. After about half an hour they noticed a short pale shape standing at the treeline swaying, which remained several minutes and made a soft inquisitive sound. When they came down to approach it disappeared, with a sound of brush movement in the woods. The next morning they found a wide bare footprint with four toe marks in a gopher mound where it had stood.
