On July 15 the narrator joined two companions to check a friend's report of tracks preserved in asphalt on a cabin access road in a state park. They found one clear impression about sixteen and a half inches long and a second fainter impression about thirty-three inches away heel to heel. The shaded road had been paved two years earlier, and the party wet the depression to photograph it.

An investigator later visited the site with the witness and observed that the tracks were in duff without toe detail and that one track location would be awkward for a biped. The investigator suggested the bed could be from a bear or elk and was not enthusiastic about the site as evidence.

A logger reported finding a dome-shaped hut and tracks beside a creek near Molalla. An investigator visited the site and documented the hut, a nearby rock pile, broken branches, and about 110 tracks attributed to two five-toed individuals of different sizes. Plaster casts were made of both track sizes.
