Daytime encounter by two people near Rock Creek Road
The witness and a younger relative parked and hiked toward a beaver dam meadow. The relative heard knocking sounds and then saw a tall hunched hair-covered figure with striking yellow eyes watching from the treeline, while the witness smelled a strong odor and the dog barked and kept looking back. The group walked back to the truck without running while hearing twigs snapping behind them, and later wondered if they had disturbed the animal while feeding.

The witness was cutting firewood and loading blocks into a truck when a very foul odor suddenly appeared. Looking around, the witness saw a brown-furred biped about 100 feet away walking up a slope out of a ravine with its back turned. The creature briefly steadied itself with a hand on a tree and continued uphill without looking at the witness. Frightened, the witness finished loading quickly and left the area.
