After walking up a hill alone, the witness heard repeated loud scream-howls approaching closer over three bouts without seeing the source. The witness ran back down to the road where the relative had also heard the sounds, and both left the area in a truck.

Two men walking through very dense brush heard a loud roar-like sound ending in a high-pitched shriek. They then smelled a very strong foul odor and heard unseen brush movement, followed by a second, closer howl. Both men fled through the brush and exited about half a mile from where they entered. The account was relayed to the reporter by a relative of one participant, who said the participant remained frightened of that woods afterward.
